A year ago, I had read a post in the Retail Insider blog that said that Lululemon was in talks to build a new flagship store in downtown Vancouver. This was confirmed two days ago in another post. (I used to refer to Vancouver’s flagship store as the one on West 4th but that was because it was the first store.)
Here it is, almost a year later, and other news stories have come out to say that it has been confirmed that Lululemon is building a larger space on Burrard Street and Robson Street. I remembered going to the Blenz coffee shop and the New Balance Sporting store that was in that space before. Lululemon already has a store on Robson street, a few blocks west but this new store will be much larger and more prominent.
I walked by the spot yesterday and saw this construction area. They say that it will be almost four times larger than the Robson store they have now.
This store at 4400 square feet, will be larger than Lululemon’s present largest store, which is in the Edmonton. It is also the store with the highest sales figures. Will that change once they open this new store?
I presume that it will be open in time for the Lululemon Seawheeze Half Marathon in August! I’m really looking forward to shopping in this new store this summer!
