Lululemon Bright Orange Pop Post Savasana Tote Bag 514

This is a Lululemon bright orange pop colored Post Savasana Tote Bag. I bought it at the 2013 Warehouse Party Sale here in Vancouver and it had just come out in November 2012. These were snapped up quickly at the sale!

Here is the full view of the front of the bag. It is a quite large bag and is made of a smooth almost shiny fabric. You can easily fit a yoga mat and other clothing in it.

I love this bag because of the bright orange color and the large size of it. It’s fairly light in weight but sturdy, too. Does anybody have the blue version of this bag?

Lululemon Warehouse Party Sale Vancouver 2013 Review Part Six Final Day Discounts

Part Six

This is the last part of my Lululemon Warehouse Party Sale Vancouver 2013 review, final day discounts.

I wasn’t sure if I was going to go. I hadn’t found that many real bargains on the first day of the sale, Friday, January 18, 2013. I kept checking the facebook and twitter pages to see if there was any news of whether or not they would be open on Sunday. They kept saying the decision would be inventory dependent.

I knew for sure that I wouldn’t be going there for the 8AM open. The twitter page did say that they would be open today, Sunday, one last day. I decided that I couldn’t resist the possibility of further discounts. However, I didn’t expect there to be any new stock that I hadn’t seen on Friday.

When I got to BC Place around 9:30 AM, I saw people leaving already and they had bags with them. That was a good sign. On Friday, there were lots of people who left without any bag or carrying  only a single bag. There were few with more than one bags.

There  was no line up when I got inside. Even the bag check was empty. I had been reading on a past review of a US warehouse sale (Chicago maybe?) and was shocked to hear that they had security guards count the Lululemon pieces you arrived with so that they could compare how many pieces you left with. I’m so glad that security was not that extreme at this event!

Here was a sign from last night’s Goal Setting Seminar.

IMGP8962 Lululemon Warehouse Party Sale 2013 Vancouver

When I approached the sales floor, I saw several people getting free massages. I wish I would have had time for a massage on the way out, there wasn’t even a wait! This was put on by the West Coast College of Massage Therapy. I’ll definitely check them out!

IMGP8963 Lululemon Warehouse Party Sale 2013 VancouverIMGP8991 Lululemon Warehouse Party Sale 2013 Vancouver

This time, there was also a band playing as opposed to the DJ. That was nice.

IMGP8994 Lululemon Warehouse Party Sale 2013 Vancouver

I was surprised to see that there was still quite a bit of inventory considering that today was the last day. I guess they didn’t sell as much as they had expected to yesterday, Saturday.

IMGP8972 Lululemon Warehouse Party Sale 2013 Vancouver

IMGP8974 Lululemon Warehouse Party Sale 2013 Vancouver

Here is the color coded prices and the discounts sign. Again, I have to point out the totally confusing color coding pricing. I overheard customer asking a Lululemon staffer whether a price tag color was the $22 yellow or the $32 yellow and of course, he wasn’t sure. Same with the orange prices as well. Like seriously, didn’t anybody question this decision?!

IMGP8968 Lululemon Warehouse Party Sale 2013 Vancouver

There wasn’t as many discounts on the Ivivva prices which I thought was odd.

IMGP8967 Lululemon Warehouse Party Sale 2013 Vancouver

I have to admit that I was a little disappointed. Everything that I was interested in seemed to be the colors that were not discounted.

Those ugly ponchos or capes that they were trying to flog on Friday for $29 were only cut to $22. Needless to say, there were lots of them. There was one woman trying one on and quite frankly, it made her look like she was wearing a tent.

IMGP8976 Lululemon Warehouse Party Sale 2013 Vancouver

There was a whole box of black hair ties that were still $9. Seriously?! The caps and mitts were also at the same price as Friday, and had few takers. The swimming suits at $9 were still not really selling.

IMGP8975 Lululemon Warehouse Party Sale 2013 Vancouver

There were more men there today, I even ran into an old acquaintance. There was a special for men, any 4 pieces for $100. He bought 3 pairs of pants and a hoodie. That was a deal!

IMGP8992 Lululemon Warehouse Party Sale 2013 Vancouver

I bought a pair of running tights that had a pair of shorts over them, for $22. There were lots of those, all sizes. The Lululemon staffer was making a hard sell–telling people that if they didn’t like the tights attached, they could cut them off!

IMGP8964 Lululemon Warehouse Party Sale 2013 VancouverIMGP8965 Lululemon Warehouse Party Sale 2013 Vancouver

The special that they had for women was 4 pairs of shorts or skirts for $50. I asked if you had to buy 4 pairs or if you could just buy less than that and they said, you did have to buy 4 pairs.

IMGP8978 Lululemon Warehouse Party Sale 2013 Vancouver

At $12.50 each, I decided to buy 4, 2 skirts and 2 pairs of shorts. Here are two of them.

IMGP8986 Lululemon Warehouse Party Sale 2013 Vancouver

IMGP8985 Lululemon Warehouse Party Sale 2013 Vancouver

Here is a view of the women’s pants. I was surprised to see how many there were still hanging there. And yes, there seemed to be all sizes.

IMGP8980 Lululemon Warehouse Party Sale 2013 Vancouver

IMGP8979 Lululemon Warehouse Party Sale 2013 Vancouver

Here are some Ivivva jackets on the table. There still seemed to be at least half of what I saw on Friday afternoon.

IMGP8973 Lululemon Warehouse Party Sale 2013 Vancouver

Here are some more of those striped pants, $29 on Friday, $22 today. Not exactly flying off the racks today.

IMGP8969 Lululemon Warehouse Party Sale 2013 Vancouver

Here is a sign that says that there is a limit on the number of pieces one can buy. Hmmm. I did not see anybody with anywhere near this number. I would think that they’d be happy to have somebody wanting to buy this much. There is also a box of fake fur pieces that were supposed to be attached to the special edition scubas, I think.

IMGP8989 Lululemon Warehouse Party Sale 2013 Vancouver

Here is the check out. I waited maybe ten minutes.

IMGP8987 Lululemon Warehouse Party Sale 2013 Vancouver

There were fewer cashiers. I think these ones were more experienced than the ones there on Friday. I didn’t overhear of anybody experiencing errors while I was checking out. And my cashier did not make any price mistakes (unlike Friday’s cashier who took three tries before getting it right) so I was glad. I did take photos of all the price tags before they were cut off though, just to make sure. Why did they cut these tags off? Did they think people would try and return them? The labels had big black marks slashed through them, too.

IMGP8990 Lululemon Warehouse Party Sale 2013 Vancouver

Bag check out was speedy. Here are a few people leaving.

IMGP8995 Lululemon Warehouse Party Sale 2013 Vancouver

I was tempted to return before the closing at 2 PM to see if there was much stuff left and if they cut the prices more.

I found out later that they decided to open until 5 PM! So if you got there by 4 PM, you could shop until 5 PM! I wonder if there were any more cuts by then? Does anybody know?

I also saw that they were offering a Canucks Game Changer product for anybody who bought anything after 2 PM, if they were wearing some Vancouver Canucks Hockey clothing. (there was a game across the street tonight) Did anybody get that? I don’t know why but Lululemon decided that it was a big secret and wouldn’t say what the prize was after the fact.

Honestly speaking, I didn’t think much of Lululemon’s social media coverage. They were purposely vague to anybody who asked anything about discounts and other questions. There is a point where you can be a tease and get people in the door, but if you go too far, people just won’t bother. I really think that there were fewer people than they expected over the whole weekend.

Also, there was conflicting information. Although it was supposed to be a final sale, circumstances like mislabeled items or damaged items should be returnable. There was one case where someone was told, no, it was not returnable but to others, it was. They should be consistent in what they tell everybody!

For me, I don’t live too far from BC Place, so it wasn’t a big deal for me to come more than once. Hell, I probably would have come again before closing, if the tweets hadn’t been so vague. If I lived farther away, I wouldn’t have bothered.

The reason why I have written a review as I have is because I think that the more information people have about a sale, the better. I don’t believe in over hyping a sale and then not delivering.  Did I get some good deals? Yes. Would I wait in line? No, nothing warranted that.

I’ll be looking out for the US warehouse party sale. I wonder if they are packing up all the leftovers from this sale over to them to sell?

Anybody have any comments? I know that my experience was different compared to some and would love to hear your comments.

Lululemon Warehouse Party Sale Vancouver 2013 Review Part Five Check Out

Part Five

This is part five, the check out process.

I was ready to check out at around 4 PM or so. At that time, there was hardly any wait in the line up to check out. Everytime somebody was free, they would wave a red flag and a staffperson would direct you to the next one.

IMGP8928 Lululemon Vancouver Warehouse Party Sale 2013

As it clearly said, only debit and credit cards are accepted. No cash nor gift cards are accepted. People were reaching into their little plastic baggies (since no wallets or purses were allowed) to get out their cards.

IMGP8868 Lululemon Vancouver Warehouse Party Sale 2013

I could tell that my cashier was nervous even though it wasn’t too crowded. I wouldn’t guess that she was a regular Lululemon cashier by her actions.

IMGP8842 Lululemon Vancouver Warehouse Party Sale 2013

I used to be a cashier for years when I was a student so I’m very good at adding up prices in my head. I knew what my totals would be pre-tax. The first total seemed high…she made a mistake with a price.

The second total didn’t seem right either, she had made yet another mistake. The first time, she had to get a supervisor to help her. The second time, she voided the whole thing and started over. Each time, I asked her to check it again.

Third time was a charm and she finally got it right. She wasn’t the only one a little confused, I could overhear other people correcting their cashier.

So finally! I’m finished! Or am I? I look over to the long, winding line…it’s the check out line. Shoot! Now I have to wait to get my coat and bags.

IMGP8840 Lululemon Vancouver Warehouse Party Sale 2013

I wasn’t thrilled waiting even though the line moved fairly quickly.

IMGP8929 Lululemon Vancouver Warehouse Party Sale 2013

Pros:

  • Fairly well organized in sizes, check out layout
  • Staff was enthusiastic
  • Racks Well Spaced Out
  • Free Yoga Class, Goals Class
  • DJ playing music was nice, live band when I was there would have been nicer

Cons:

  • Color Code Pricing Confusing, really confusing!
  • Too few changing rooms, long waits (though I never bother, I try on in the aisles)
  • Discounts weren’t that great–on par with outlet prices or after Christmas sale prices
  • Not enough selection for a big event like this, men should complain!
  • Bag Check Out Too Slow
  • Cashiers Not Experienced Enough

I did notice that there weren’t too many people that had more than two bags. I had two bags. There were quite a few people who only had a small bag or even no bag! Imagine going through all the hassle and not finding a single thing to buy?! No where did I see any shoppers that had multiple bags. So what does that say?

Would I go again? Sure! But, my expectations will be a lower. I may find something, but I won’t expect to find huge bargains.

That being said, I may try back on Sunday. I heard a rumor that they may lower some prices then…can’t resist the possibility of a bargain!

IMGP8924 Lululemon Vancouver Warehouse Party Sale 2013

These vertical striped pants were on special for $29. I think I know why. I overheard some girls mulling over whether or not they should buy some. One suggested that they could use them as a costume…a pirate costume, perhaps?

I didn’t look too carefully at the pants but there did seem to be a pretty fair selection of sizes.

BTW, there was a long line up for the fitting rooms. I don’t know why people don’t heed the advice to come in clothes like tights that you can easily try things on in the open?

Part Four will be some Ivivva photos.

Lululemon Warehouse Party Sale Vancouver 2013 Review Part One

IMGP8827 Lululemon Vancouver Warehouse Party 2013

Today was the first day of Lululemon’s (Ware) House Party Sale which was held in Vancouver, BC this year, for the first time in around ten years.

The first I had heard of this event was from the weekly emails that I receive from my local Lululemon stores. I immediately went to google to see if I could find any reviews about past events. Two cities where have had the event were Chicago and Ottawa.

I wondered whether or not it would be worth it for me to go there super early in the cold (Vancouver standards) or whether I could go in later. Since frost was forecast, I opted for the later arrival. (hours 8 AM to 8 PM)

I was doing some errands in the area and was at Costco enjoying a $1.50 hotdog and drink when I started to see several people coming in with Lululemon shopping bags. By the time I finished, there was probably around ten people with Lululemon bags! It got me all excited to go to BC Place!

On the way to BC Place (close to the downtown Costco), which hosts our football games, I ran into somebody carrying a Lululemon bag so I asked her how the event was and if it was worth it. She told me that she wasn’t really that much of a shopper so she wasn’t sure how good the prices were. Not only that, but they cut off the tags that had the prices on it.

Upon a closer look, I realized that I was chatting with a local TV news anchor! I didn’t recognize her right away! She was really nice and even showed me what she had bought. She also let me take her photo, too.

I got to Gate A around 1:30 PM or so. There was no line up at that point. Once we entered, we walked down until we got to the field level. There are people passing out small samples of a mineral water of some kind. There are also some fruit being passed around as well.

To the left, is a stage, though when I was there, there were no bands playing. There was a DJ so there was music playing the whole time. I had been looking forward to hearing a band. Oh well.

The first thing that we had to do was check out coats and bags. I had read that on the website. Somebody takes everything and puts it in a large plastic bag (like a dry cleaning bag) and gives you a claim ticket.

I stuffed everything in my jacket that I wore, including my wallet and camera and checked my coat and other bag. Some people left their wallet and were only allowed to take out their bank or credit cards in a small plastic bag?! How weird is that? Sorry, but there’s no way that I’m leaving my wallet with coat check. Good thing mine is small enough to fit in my pocket.

When you enter the shopping area, to the right are racks of Mens items. I was surprised to see as many guys as there were. There wasn’t that much of a selection for them compared to the rest of the sections. I have seen more mens selection at the factory outlets.

Each long row is clearly marked by size. Facing, on the left hand side are bottoms, including boxes of shorts and skirts. On the racks, are pants, crop pants, running tights.

On the right hand side, there are rows of racks of tops. There are black scuba hoodies on a table as well. There are jackets, pullovers, sweaters, tops, t-shirts and a few coats. Again, all rows are clearly marked.

At the end of the sales area is the Girls Ivivva area. It’s easy to spot this area because of the bright colors and the smaller sizes. It was so cute to see a little girl (around ten years old) shopping like she was in a candy store, she was so excited!

In the middle of the tops area, by the employees only area, was a section that sold $29 capes, jackets and pants. I was all excited about this cape until I really thought about it–seriously, when will I ever wear a cape?

To the right of the tops rows, there is an accessories area. When I got there, there were bright neon orange yoga tote bags for $9 and they went pretty quickly. They also had $19 black yoga bags and one neon yoga tote, also for $19.

Other items in this area included: mitts, caps, hair ties, bathing suits, panties, and head bands. They ranged from $4 to $9.

Here are photos that I took. I tried to show the price tag as well. You have to look at the color coding to see how much everything cost. Unfortunately, there were some colors that looked a little similar so I didn’t know what the price was. Instead of asking, I merely threw it back in the pile.

There would be one item and there would be different color dots on them. Somebody didn’t check those dots very carefully. I would look at all the dots and of course, pick the one that had the cheapest priced dot.

Here is the outside of BC Place, Gate A. People were lining up outside from 1 AM apparently. I heard that there were 700 people in line when it opened.

IMGP8828Lululemon Vancouver Warehouse Party 2013IMGP8829Lululemon Vancouver Warehouse Party 2013

Here is a view of the area where line ups would be. Since I got there when it was not busy, it is empty.

IMGP8830Lululemon Vancouver Warehouse Party 2013

Here is the color coded pricing. They also have these signs at the end of each row. There was separate pricing for Lululemon and for Ivivva.

Here are some of the accessories: mitts, hats. Most were $9.

IMGP8839 Lululemon Vancouver Warehouse Party 2013

There were boxes of shorts and skirts. Most were around $29 or so.
