Lululemon Dark Purple Wide Headband 656
I have several of these headbands and love to wear these when running or during yoga class. I tend to like the plain colored ones though they have quite a variety of different patterns, too. How many do you have?
Here are some photos from Saturday, the day of the Lululemon Seawheeze Half Marathon.
I was quite tired from lining up for the exclusive store the night before so I really wanted to get as much rest before the race. I don’t live too far from the start line so I hopped on the bus. There were two other runners on the bus at that time. I wasn’t sure what the weather would be like so I had a few outfits in mind. It was supposed to rain but I hoped that it wouldn’t be too bad.
When I put on the weather forecast, it said that it wasn’t that warm but it probably wouldn’t rain. I was glad so I didn’t bother with rain gear. I had bought a nice jacket at the Seawheeze store and I was tempted to wear it.
I got to the convention center and there was lots of runners inside, doing the usual, dropping off their bags at gear check, stretching, eating, going to the bathroom and heading outside. I stayed inside until the last minute because I wanted to keep warm.
Lululemon Seawheeze Half Marathon Race Day Review 2015
Bike Course Marshalls
I spotted a friend, Josh who was volunteering as a bike course marshall!
I was also impressed with runners who had cycled here and then left their bikes with The Bicycle Valet! Talk about lots of energy!
Startline
Self Seeded Corrals
I couldn’t remember what corral I had signed up with and I couldn’t find any of my friends. Nor could I find my friend who was a pace beaver! I just went in one and stuck to it.
The race start was 7 AM!
Starting in East Vancouver
Our first cheer group was the Ride Cycle Club who were riding on the viaduct! They were really going at it and cheering us on as we ran by!
Short Time in Chinatown
View of False Creek and Science World
BC Place
Not sure what these bubbles were supposed to be!
Dress Alike Runners
Don’t you love it when you see runners who dress alike?
First Water Station
I love the voluncheer t-shirts this year, pink and grey! I got one for volunteering for set up.
Cheerers on Stilts
Pace Car
I’m not sure how I got to see the Tesla pace car. It should have been waaay ahead of me!
Cheer Groups
West End Drag Queens
On an overcast race day, it was so nice to see these brightly dressed drag queens in Vancouver’s West End!
November Project Cheer Group
This was my favorite cheer group because I know most of them from twitter, the November Project Vancouver group!
Burrard Street Bridge
I was so amazed by Dr. Dribble, the world’s fastest running basketball dribbler!
I spotted a really fast devil, too!
Here was a runner dressed in an animal suit!
Lululemon Headquarters Cheer Group
The biggest cheers came close to the Lululemon headquarters at the end of Burrard Street Bridge!
More Volunteers
Spotted some more of my friends volunteering!
Ivivva Girls Cheer Group
They are always so happy and enthusiastic! The Vancouver Ivivva store is just a few blocks up from the race route.
Bridal Party Runners
Saw some just marrieds, bride, maid of honour but no engagement this year. I know that there was an engagement at the finish line last year.
Wizard of Oz
Some more Furry Cheerers
Nice Signs!
Here we are running along the seawall. There is a large Inukshuk and a RUN beside it. Some people were taking selfies.
Here are some more volunteers/cheerers!
Cool to see these paddle boarders!
Musical Band out on the Water!
Not sure what these were! But there were lots of them on the race course and even at the Sunset Festival later on!
Here’s another music band!
Here’s one of my fave spots on the seawall, Siwash Rock.
It’s pretty narrow around this area but this girl was giving us all high fives!
I also like this lighthouse!
Here were the Scientists group cheerers! There were lots of them! I hadn’t read the information that came with our shorts so I had no idea why there were so many scientists!
The return of the beautiful Mermaids!
The Ivivva Girls Again! They were even more enthusiastic as we ran by!
Approaching the Finish Line
So happy to reach the last stretch!
Our names were announced as we crossed the finish line!
Volunteers with our medals! A sight for sore eyes! Or sore legs!
The medal this year was a heavy gold colored carrot with a bite out of it. It had a plain black string. Seriously, I only had it on for a few minutes before I had to take it off because my neck hurt from the weight of it!
We also got a nice runner’s kit from Saje! It has two small vials of recovery products. I will definitely go to the store here to buy another one!
I like the black runner’s cap, too! I like it better than last year’s cap!
We also got a KIND bar!
After the race we were pretty chilly because of the wind.
Ran into another friend who was volunteering! I felt so badly for her because it was so cold and windy! At least we runners warmed up while we ran!
Delicious Runner’s Brunch from Bearfoot Bistro!
Post Race Massage
Saje hosted the post race massage! While in line, they were letting us try the race recovery products!
I sat down and stretched and ate my brunch.
As I was leaving I spotted some more finishers! The announcers were great! One of them, Matt, is a great runner and yoga instructor!
One last shot…doggy friend in shades beside the pace car!
I had a really fun race! I managed to do okay despite taking over 250 photos during the race! Although I was familiar with the course since I live here, I was still blown away seeing it during this race. I loved seeing all the entertainment along the race, too! I felt so energized by the race, I ran home! Thanks so much to Lululemon, all the staff, volunteers, cheerers and runners!
